"John Miller, a native of England, born in 1624, was a member of the Grand Inquest, at Middleboro, in 1672. He was one of the proprietors of the "Twenty-six Men's Purchase," 1661-62, and was present at their meeting in 1677. Prior to April 29, 1678, he purchased a house lot of Edward Gray, and he was the owner of lot #154 in the South Purchase of 1673. He was also one of the owners of the Sixteen Shilling Purchase of 1675. John Miller lived on Thompson Street, not far from the brook in Middleboro, near the house of the late Elijah Shaw. He died May 11, 1720, in his 97th year, and his monument stands in the cemetery at the "Green," where rest the remains of six or more generations of his descendants. The surname of his wife Mercy is not known, but they were the parents of at least three children: John, Mary, and Elizabeth." 1841 census of Wales, Montgomeryshire, Meifod, Teirtref, place name Penyrhos:
David Benbow, age 36, farmer, born in Montgomeryshire
Elizabeth Benbow, age 41, born in Montgomeryshire
David Benbow, age 10, born in Montgomeryshire
Elizabeth Benbow, age 8, born in Montgomeryshire
Mary Benbow, age 5, born in Montgomeryshire
Margaret Benbow, age 3, born in Montgomeryshire
Evan Lloyd, age 14, M.S. [male servant], born in Montgomeryshire
Is he a brother to the Jonathan Benbow, age 42, living next-door?
Some things are different and confusing about this census, but it may belong to the same man:
1851 census of Wales, Montgomeryshire, Llansaintffraid, Lledrod, place name Wyddygoed:
David Benbow, head, married, age 46, farmer of 120 acres with 2 labourers, born Llanlligan, Montgomery
Elizabeth Benbow, wife, married, age 51, farmer's wife, born Llanfair, Montgomery
Harriet Benbow, daughter, unmarried, age 13, born Meifod, Montgomery
Margaret Benbow, daughter, unmarried, age 10, servant, born Llanfair, Montgomery
David Davies, servant, unmarried, age 12, servant, born Meifod, Montgomery
Thomas Gettins, servant, unmarried, age 10, servant, born Llanfihangel, Montgomery
I can't identify this "Harriet" in any other census. The age matches the age of daughter Margaret in the prior census, whereas the daughter Margaret in this census is only 7 years older than she was during the prior census. Could this be a mistake, with a daughter named Harriet age 10 added to the family since the prior census? Or is this another family altogether -- in which case I am missing the 1851 census for this family group.
1861 census of Wales, Montgomeryshire, Llanfechain, place name Tyncha:
David Benbow, head, married, age 56, farmer of 107 acres employing 2 men & 1 boy, born Llanllugan, Montg.

Mary Benbow, daughter, unmarried, age 25, dairymaid, born Meifod, Montg.

David Jones, servant, unmarried, age 24, carter, born Guilsfield, Montg.
Josiah Morgan, servant, unmarried, age 21, ag. gen. serv., born Llanwyddyn, Montg.
John Ellis, servant, unmarried, age 14, ag. serv. born Llanfechain, Montg.
1881 census of Wales, Montgomeryshire, Llanfechain, place name of Tyuchaf:
David Benbow, head, married, age 76, farmer of 24 acres, employing 1 boy, born Montgomery, Llanllygan
Sarah Benbow, wife, married, age 61, born Montgomery, Llanwnog
John Roberts, servant, unmarried, age 16, farm servant indoor, born Montgomery, Llanfechain
Elizabeth Morice, servant, unmarried, age 21, gen. servant domestic, born Montgomery, Meifod
The wife's name is Sarah in this census, but the age matches Elizabeth's age, and David seems to be the same man. Did Elizabeth die, and David marry another woman of the same age but different birthplace? Or does this record belong to another David Benbow? | Family: F729

Olive W. Moore, age 13, born IN
Walter Moore, age 11, born IN
Ida P. Moore, age 7 or 9, born IN
Phoebe Sofield, age 103, born NJ
There are three notes to make on this census record:
(1) There is no Otto, but there is an Olive. The sex column has a F instead of an M, but it still may be a mistake, since the age and middle initial are the same -- probably due to the census taker having problems reading his notes.
(2) There is no Milford in this census, but there is Ida, who is age 20 in the 1880 census. It is assumed that Milford died, and that Ida was born late in 1860 or in 1861.
(3) Phoebe Sofield would have been age 55 when Susan was born, so it's doubtful she's Susan's mother, but she could be the mother's older sister or a grandmother.

1920 census of Baltimore City, Maryland, indicates that the father George immigrated in 1913, followed in 1914 by the wife and the children who were born in England. However, the immigration records themselves show that George immigrated in 1912, with his brother James, and another relative or friend. Ada and the three children born in England immigrated in 1913. | Family: F570
